Transfer Credits

Advanced Secondary School Curriculum

Secondary school courses instructed and evaluated at the post-secondary level may be eligible for Transfer Credits. The following advanced level curriculums are considered:

Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC): Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) Advanced Level Examinations (A-Levels) will be considered with grades of III (C) or higher on the 6-point grading scale.

College Board Advanced Placement (AP): Advanced Placement subject examinations will be considered with a grade of 4 or higher.

French Baccalaureate: Subjects completed with a final co-efficient of 10 or higher will be considered on an individual basis.

General Certificate of Education (GCE): Advanced Level Examinations (A-Levels) will be considered with grades of C or higher.

International Baccalaureate (IB): Higher Level (HL) subjects completed with a grade of 5 or higher will be considered on an individual basis.

Equivalency Table pdf: A table with established Transfer Credit equivalencies is available. If an equivalency applicable to your program is listed, you are not required to submit a course outline. If a course is not found on the table, please attach a detailed course outline to the Transfer Credit Application for faculty evaluation.

Equivalency tables are intended as a guide for applying for Transfer Credit and may be subject to change. Transfer Credits are subject to teaching and program department approval and final result are only official after validation by the Transfer Credit Unit.

You must apply using the paper Transfer Credit Application. A transcript with official results must be attached if not previously submitted to Admissions. Please note: Official IB results are not included on Ontario secondary school transcripts.

CEGEP

CEGEP courses must have a minimum grade of 70% (B-) to be considered for Transfer Credits.

You must submit paper Transfer Credit Applications with attached detailed course outlines. French course outlines will only be accepted for courses for which applicants are seeking French language credits (e.g. FRE 101, FRE 201). All other French courses outlines must be translated into English. Uncertified translations accompanying the original French outline will be accepted.
