Advanced Standing and Direct Entry

Advanced Standing and Direct Entry recognizes the completion of similar courses or programs by granting admission into a level higher than first semester.  Review your Offer of Admission for details on Advanced Standing and your Basis of Admission.

Your Advanced Standing Offer of Admission will confirm if you are eligible to apply for Transfer Credits. 

If specific Advanced Standing Credits were granted on your Offer of Admission, you do not need to submit Transfer Credit applications for these Credits.  Prior to the start of your first term they will be posted to your Transfer Credit Report on the RAMSS tab of my.ryerson.ca. 

If you were granted admission into a level higher than first semester exempted courses will not appear on your Transfer Credit Report on the RAMSS tab of my.ryerson.ca.  Your Advisement Report will confirm these requirements are met. 

Business Management Direct Entry

As a Business Management Direct Entry student you have been admitted into the 5th semester of a Business Management major.  To graduate you must successfully complete 5th through 8th semesters, as well as the reachback courses from 1st through 4th semester you have been assigned on your Offer of Admission.

You may apply for Transfer Credits for your reachbacks and/or courses from 5th through 8th semesters. However only the maximum number of reachbacks assigned on your Offer will be applicable. For example, if you were assigned 5 reachbacks on your Offer, you may apply towards your degree a maximum of 5 Transfer Credits.

Since a limited number of Transfer Credits are applicable, you should determine the most suitable courses for which to submit Transfer Credit Applications.  Please visit the Business Management Direct Entry webpage for information including college equivalency tables.
