Q: How do I apply for Transfer Credits?Answer 
A: Transfer Credit applications may be submitted online or using the paper application form. Application instructions vary depending on student and application type, as well as institution attended; visit ryerson.ca/transfercredits for specific instructions.
Q: When do I apply for Transfer Credits? Answer 
A: We strongly encourage applying for Transfer Credits, and following up with course outlines if required, as soon as you are eligible.
You are eligible to apply for Transfer Credits with an Offer of Admission if the institution you attended is available on the online Transfer Credit application. Applying online will allow you to view unofficial results, pending validation. Offical results are confirmed after you accept your Offer of Admission, and after May 1 (if admitted for the upcoming Fall Term).
If your institution is not available online, you can apply for Transfer Credits after you have accepted your Offer of Admission, and after May 1 (if admitted for the upcoming Fall Term).
Q: How long will it take to get my Transfer Credit results? Answer 
A: Online Applications will instantly receive unofficial results. Official results are confirmed on your Transfer Credit Report after you accept your Offer of Admission, and after May 1, if you are admitted for the upcoming Fall Term. If you apply after May 1 and after accepting your Offer of Admission, official results are posted on your Transfer Credit Report within 3 business days of applying.
It can take 6-8 weeks from the date suitable course outlines for No Rule applications are submitted for evaluation decisions to appear on the Report.
Paper Applications will be processed by the Transfer Credit Unit within 5 business days of a complete application being received. Evaluations can take 6-8 weeks and will be posted on your Transfer Credit Report.
Q: Can my No Rule applications be evaluated before I accept my Offer of Admission? Answer
A: No Rule applications are only evaluated after you accept your Offer of Admission.
No Rule applications cannot be evaluated before your Offer's confirmation deadline, as it can take 6-8 weeks for evaluation decisions. We recommend collecting your course outlines and submitting them for evaluation after accepting your Offer of Admission, and/or after May 1.
Q: Who evaluates my Transfer Credit Applications? Answer 
A: All equivalency decisions are made by Ryerson faculty. The Transfer Credit Unit confirms your Transfer Credit eligibility, the accreditation of your institution(s), the accuracy of your grades and submitted course information and finally which teaching department will evaluate course outlines.
Q: Can I have my Transfer Credit Applications approved by my professor for faster results? Answer 
A: All Transfer Credit Applications must be submitted to the Transfer Credit Unit and not to Ryerson professors or program departments. The Unit vets all Transfer Credit applications and will ensure they are evaluated by the appropriate faculty member.
If your results are not appearing within 6 weeks or you have exceptional circumstances that require having your results quickly, email the Transfer Credit Unit.
Q: How come my Transfer Credit applications do not appear on my Transfer Credit Report? Answer 
A: Transfer Credit Applications appear on your Report after they are verified by the Transfer Credit Unit. Applications are processed after you accept your Offer of Admission and after May 1 (if you are admitted for the upcoming Fall Term). If you apply for Transfer Credits after May 1 and after confirming your Offer of Admission, your results will appear on your Report within 2 business days.
Transfer Credit Appeals and Applications from international and some out-of-province institutions will not appear on your Report until a final decision is made. Applications for courses and/or final grades that cannot be confirmed will not appear on your Report; you will be contacted by email requesting the missing information. No Rule applications for which suitable course outlines are not received within 6 weeks are removed from the Transfer Credit Report.
Q: I am taking a summer course, when do I submit my Transfer Credit Applications? Answer 
A: Do not wait to complete your summer course to submit your Transfer Credit Applications for your completed courses, as this will delay the majority of your Transfer Credit results. Upon completing your summer course, submit a Transfer Credit Application. Your official transcript with final grades is required.
Q: I took my courses more than 10 years ago. Can I still apply for Transfer Credits? Answer 
A: Generally courses must be taken within the past 10 years to be eligible for Transfer Credits. You can have courses more than 10 years old evaluated by applying with paper Transfer Credit Applications and attached course outlines; the faculty evaluators will determine if a Transfer Credit can be granted.
Q: I submitted an online Transfer Credit Application by mistake and was charged the Transfer Credit Late Fee. Can I have the Late Fee removed since it was submitted in error? Answer 
A: The Transfer Credit Late Fee is not refunded under any circumstances. The online and paper Transfer Credit Applications clearly indicate all submissions are official applications and subject to the Late Fee regardless of results.
