Applying Online

After receiving an Offer of Admission, you are eligible to apply for Transfer Credits online.  Instant unofficial results will appear upon submitting your application.  Unofficial results are based on previously established equivalencies contained in our Transfer Credit Database.  Official results are confirmed on your Transfer Credit Report after accepting your Offer of Admission, and after May 1, if you are admitted for the upcoming Fall Term.

Once application results are confirmed, you may submit course outlines, if required, for faculty evaluation.

6 Steps to apply online

Step One

Access the online Application on the RAMSS tab of my.ryerson.ca and enter all applicable courses from your post-secondary institution

  • Before applying, have all relevant materials for your Application nearby. Ensure you are using a supported web browser and operating system.
  • Detailed online application intructions are available on RAMSS Support.
  • Submit a complete Application the first time. You may apply for all completed or In Progress (IP) courses.
  • If some of your courses are not found using the look-ups in the Application, submit the available courses and email the missing courses to tcredits@ryerson.ca.  The course(s) will be updated and you can return to the application to submit remaining course(s).
  • Your Offer of Admission confirms Transfer Credit restrictions.  If Credits were granted on your Offer, you do not need to apply for these courses.

Step Two

Review the instantly generated unofficial results

  • Displayed results reveal which courses are accepted, denied, and have no equivalency rule, pending validation by the Transfer Credit Unit.
  • Prior to May 1st: results could change due to yearly Transfer Credit Database revisions.
  • No Rule courses must be evaluated by Ryerson faculty to determine an equivalency. See Step 4 on how to submit course outlines.

Step Three

Access Transfer Credit Report on RAMSS tab of my.ryerson.ca for
official results

  • Official results will be posted on your Transfer Credit Report on the RAMSS tab of my.ryerson.ca after you confirm your Offer of Admission, or after May 1, if you are admitted for the upcoming Fall Term.
  • If you have already accepted your Offer of Admission, results will appear on the Transfer Credit Report within 3 business days of applying.
  • You will receive an acknowledgement email to your Ryerson account confirming your applications have been processed.
  • You may also receive an incomplete application email sent to your Ryerson account requesting you submit transcripts or other critical documents such as course outlines.
  • Instructions on how to view your Transfer Credit Report are available on RAMSS Support.

Step Four

Submit course outlines and any incomplete documents to the Transfer
Credit Unit

  • Submit proper course outlines for No Rule courses with your student number and name clearly written on each document.
  • Course outlines and incomplete documents must be received before Application Deadlines to have results confirmed by the start of the upcoming term.
  • Submit Applications and documents in person to Enrollment Services & Student Fees (POD 64) or mail to the Transfer Credit Unit:
  • Ryerson University
    Transfer Credit Unit, POD 363
    350 Victoria Street
    Toronto, ON M5B 2K3

  • We do not accept course outlines via email or fax.

Step Five

Check your Transfer Credit Report frequently for application status and final
results

  • Your Report will confirm if No Rule course outlines were received.
  • No Rule applications will be updated over the next 6 – 8 weeks as faculty evaluations are completed.

Step Six

Once you have your complete application results see Next Steps to confirm how your Transfer Credits apply towards your program requirements.
