Transfer Credit Appeals |
Every effort has been made by Ryerson faculty to provide suitable Transfer Credit results. Occasionally one or more of the decisions are not what you expect. If that is the case you have the option to file a Transfer Credit Appeal.
If you wish to appeal a Transfer Credit decision, we advise you do so promptly after receiving the decision. See Appeal Restrictions section below for appeal deadlines.
Transfer Credit Appeals can only be made in writing and submitted to the Transfer Credit Unit. Please note: filing an Appeal may not provide the desired outcome.
Transfer Credit Appeals include the following 3 items:
- Detailed letter of appeal – Your letter should state a specific Ryerson course for which you wish to have your Appeal considered: outlining similarities in course content and level between the courses. Appeal letters should be addressed to: The Transfer Credit Unit.
- Paper Application – Include in your Appeal package a completed paper Transfer Credit Application even if an application has been previously submitted. Download a paper application now
. - Course outline and supporting documents - Denied Transfer Credit Applications can be appealed only as long as additional supporting documentation is provided with your name and student number clearly identified on each document.
Submit Transfer Credit Appeals on campus to Enrollment Services & Student Fees (POD 64) or mail to the Transfer Credit Unit:

Appeal Decisions
Appeal results will be posted on the Transfer Credit Report on the RAMSS tab of my.ryerson.ca. Denied Appeals may appear in the Comments section of the Report.
Pending Appeals will not appear on the Transfer Credit Report. Original application results will remain on your Report until a final appeal decision is made by the faculty evaluator.
Appeals can take 6-8 weeks for a decision from the time a complete Appeal is received.
