Webconferencing
Web conferencing allows people to have a classroom or meeting while not being in the same place. For example, an instructor may present her lecture from her office and have students follow the presentation from their dorm rooms.
It is full-featured with communication and collaborative tools. Audio and video components as well as chat, sharing and annotating can be added to the event. Recording is also an option, in case the event has to be referred to at a later date.
Adobe Connect
Ryerson University runs and supports Adobe Connect, a web communication system enriched with interactive presentation tools and discussion & collaboration capabilities.
Ryerson instructors and staff can create and manage online real-time meetings or seminars and reach their audience through their web browser.
To access Adobe Connect, go to http://connect.ryerson.ca/
You can login using your Ryerson username/password, however, you may not have any privileges to setup a meeting.
If you need to host a meeting, please fill out the DMP form so that the DMP team can add this privilege to your account. (You will need to login using your Ryerson account to fill out the form.)
