Welcome to the School of Early Childhood Studies, the oldest program of its kind in Canada.

The School offers a full time four year choice for completion of a BA in Early Childhood Studies.

The School offers a full time collaborative diploma/degree program with George Brown College's Department of Early Childhood.

A full time 6 year concurrent program offers students a Ryerson BA in Early Childhood Studies and a York University BEd (Primary/Junior).

The School offers full time and part time degree completion programs for Ontario college diploma graduates.

The School of ECS, via Ryerson's Chang School of Continuing Ed., offers a part time degree completion B.A. through on-line delivery.

Graduates can register with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators to obtain their RECE credential.

The School’s Early Learning Centre and Gerrard Resource Centre provide students direct experiences with children and families.

The Early Learning Centre’s Naturalspace playground fosters children’s appreciation and enjoyment of nature.

Yearly student field placements provide hands-on experiences in a range of early childhood sites throughout the GTA.

Students have the option to expand their understanding of early childhood concepts and practices through international placements.

Faculty teaching, research, scholarship, and community service contributes new knowledge in the field, both nationally and globally.

The program prepares students for a range of careers with children from birth to age eight, as well as with their families.
