On Tuesday 16 October, 2012 at approximately 4 pm, the following incident was reported to Ryerson University Security and Emergency Services:
A female Ryerson student reported that at approximately 3:45 pm, she was sitting on the concrete planters by the 87 Gerrard Street entrance of the EPH/SHE building smoking a cigarette. She was approached by a man who said: “Give me a cigarette or I will knife you”. The student gave the man a cigarette. The man then left the area heading south through the alleyway towards Pitman Hall courtyard. The student did not see any weapons on the man.
The student did not want to involve Toronto Police Services at this time. Ryerson University Security and Emergency Services searched the area, but the man was not located.
