What We Do

At Ryerson University there is a very diverse and multiethnic population. As such, there are times when some voices feel excluded from the campus in a variety of ways. The Cultural Awareness Committee works with members of the Ryerson community to:

  • Increase self-empowerment within groups at Ryerson so they feel they are in a safe and welcoming space
  • Establish cultural events and celebrations aimed at building awareness and educating the entire Ryerson community about the differences that exist on campus
  • To plan, execute and assist in funding events that allow for more visibility of groups on campus in that the events are open to the entire Ryerson community
