Frequently Asked Questions

 

Q: Can non-Blackboard e-learning users use RAMSS online grade submission?

A: An instructor does not need to be a user of the Blackboard e-learning application to submit grades online. Instructors will log in to the my.ryerson.ca portal, click on the RAMSS tab and access the online grade submission facility.

 

Q: Who do I contact if my I cannot see some or all of my classes on the RAMSS page?

A: Chang School instructors should contact Linda Kowal, ext. 7566. Undergraduate and Graduate instructors, please contact facultysupport@ryerson.ca or ext. 2292.

 

Q: How can I view my grades?

A: Go to my.ryerson.ca, click on the RAMSS tab. You can view and update a Grade Roster from your Faculty Center. You may also wish to view How to Enter Grades for more information.

 

Q: Can I edit my grades after I have entered them?

A: You may edit your grades online any time up until they are posted to individual students' records which is one hour after the published deadline to submit grades (see Significant Dates). Specific instructions for editing grades are included the How to Enter Grades.

If you need to revise a grade or grades after they have been posted to students' records you must complete a Grade Revision Form. The form may be filled in online, but must then be printed, signed and submitted to Student Records for processing.

 

Q: How do I grade a student who has dropped out of my class but still appears on my grade roster?

A: At the time the grade roster was generated, the student was still enrolled in your class. In situations like this you are advised to assign a grade of "F" on the assumption that the student has participated in the class. If the student has not participated in the class and has not submitted any work for assessment, you are advised to submit a grade of "FNA".

 

Q: A student has attended my class but does not appear on my grade roster. How do I grade this student?

A: You must complete a Grade Revision Form. The form may be filled in online, but must then be printed, signed and submitted to Student Records for processing.

 

Q: I have a student on my grade roster that has never been to my class. How do I grade this student and be able to Approve my grade roster?

A: Assign a grade of "FNA" to the student. If the student attended another instructor's class (but the same course), that instructor will have to submit a grade manually. If this is the case, every effort will be made to "match-up" and replace the "FNA" grade with the manual grade.

 

Q: I am unable to change the status of my grade roster to Approve. What can I do?

A: Check to ensure that each and every student in your class has been assigned a grade. If this does not work, please contact facultysupport@ryerson.ca or extension 2292.

 

Q: I am a Mac user; can I still use online grading?

A: Yes. If you find that Safari is not displaying elements within RAMSS properly, please try using Firefox.
