Connecting with our communities is an important part of what we do in the Faculty of Communication & Design. Throughout the year, lectures, seminars, and special events provide an opportunity both to bring expert speakers to our campus and to showcase our own talent both on and off campus. Dean’s Lecture Series This popular series of free public lectures was inaugurated in 2006. The Dean’s Lecture Series bring visionary, artistic and community leaders to our campus and provide a unique opportunity to discuss emerging concepts, new ideas as well as current issues with these illuminaries. Annual Events Some of the most anticipated annual events organized by FCAD and its Schoolsinclude participation in the City of Toronto’s ScotiabankNuitBlanche student year end shows held by many of the schools. Year round exhibits and shows of student work and celebrated artists can also be seen on the Ryerson Theatre stages on Gerrard Street,and at the IMA Ryerson Gallery located at 80 Spadina Ave.

Convocation Each year, FCAD looks forward to honouring our students at both the spring and fall convocations The ceremonies also provide an opportunity to welcome or honour a distinguished community leader, whose field of work has direct relationship to programs within the Faculty of Communication & Design. All community members are invited to submit nominations of individuals for Honorary Doctorates.
