Dr. Tetyana Antimirova receives Provost's Innovative Teaching Award

Dr. Tetyana Antimirova of the Department of Physics recently received the 2010 Provost's Innovative Teaching Award. This prestigious award recognizes a Ryerson educator who has an outstanding teaching record and who has made contributions to advancing teaching and learning at Ryerson through educational innovation.

Dr. Antimirova's areas of specialization include physics education research, research-based curriculum development, technology-rich teaching and learning environments, and activity-based student-centered learning. Her focus in recent years has been on improving conceptual understanding among students in introductory physics courses, and teaching effective problem-solving skills. Dr. Antimirova was recently named the Science and Architecture Teaching Chair for the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Science.
