Dr. Anthony Bonato named editor-in-chief of Internet Mathematics journal

Dr. Anthony Bonato, Chair of the Department of Mathematics, has been named the new co-editor of the journal Internet Mathematics. This internationally respected journal focuses on complex real-world networks, such as the web graph, and online social networks like Facebook. Dr. Bonato will assist Fan Chung Graham, renowned mathematician and journal founder, to broaden the journal's scope by accepting experimental and empirical works reporting on important discoveries in fields such as wireless and biological networks.

Dr. Bonato joined Ryerson in 2008 as Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics, and became Chair of the department in 2010. Dr. Bonato has been an active researcher in the area of graph theory, having published over 60 papers and two books, and given many presentations locally and worldwide. Dr. Bonato earned his honours bachelor's degree summa cum laude from McMaster University, and his master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Waterloo. He was awarded the Ryerson SRC Award in 2009 for excellence in research, and was nominated for TVO's Best Lecturer Award in 2010.
