Dr. Gosha Zywno receives Chancellor's Award of Distinction
Dr. Gosha Zywno recently received the 2010 Chancellor's Award of Distinction. This prestigious award is conferred on an educator within the Ryerson community recognized as an exemplary model of life-long career commitment to teaching and learning, as evidenced by an outstanding and sustained record of teaching excellence, by significant contributions over time to advancing teaching and learning at Ryerson and by sustained educational leadership.
Dr. Zywno joined Ryerson in 1982 as a limited-term faculty in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and obtained a tenure-track position in 1998. Dr. Zywno holds master's degrees in Engineering from the Technical University of Lodz, Poland, and the University of Toronto. She received her PhD from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland. In 2005, Dr. Zywno was awarded the Canadian Engineers Medal for Distinction in Engineering Education, and was named Ryerson IEEE Professor of the Year. Dr. Zywno is Ryerson's first and only recipient of the 3M National Teaching Fellowship, the most distinguished award for university teaching in Canada.
