Student Scholars in the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Science were recognized today at a luncheon organized by the Office of the Dean.
The title and honour of Ryerson Student Scholar is bestowed upon full-time, undergraduate students who achieve GPAs of 3.67 or higher. This year, more than 300 students in FEAS received this distinct honour.
Present to congratulate the students on achieving this significant accomplishment were FEAS Dean Dr. Mohamed Lachemi, the Associate Deans and many departmental chairs and program directors.
Dr. Darrick Heyd, Associate Dean, Undergraduate Science Programs and Student Affairs, praised the FEAS Student Scholars for being part of this elite group that represents the top six per cent of students in the faculty.
Dr. Diane Schulman, Director, Academic Initiatives and Secretary of Senate, was also on-hand to express her congratulations. She encouraged the Student Scholars to take advantage of the resources available to them through the Convocation and Awards office.
“You came to us great; we want you to leave even greater,” Dr. Schulman said.
