Internationally Educated Engineers Qualification Bridging (IEEQB) Program

The Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science at Ryerson University is pleased to offer the Internationally Educated Engineers Qualification Bridging (IEEQB) Program. This unique program provides internationally educated engineers with an opportunity to meet the academic requirements for professional engineering licensure in Ontario. Offered in collaboration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), this program is partially funded by the Government of Ontario.

To be granted a licence to practice professional engineering in Ontario, applicants must meet all the requirements as outlined in the PEO's Licensing Guide and Application for Licence. Successful completion of the IEEQB program fulfills the PEO's academic requirement for licensure. 

As part of the program, you will be expected to:

• Successfully complete an individually tailored undergraduate academic bridging program that covers the confirmatory examination requirements as determined by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO); and 
• Successfully complete three complementary courses: Principles of Engineering Economics, Law and Ethics in Engineering Practice (this course does not replace the requirement to write the PEO's Professional Practice Examination), and Communication in the Engineering Professions.

Students wishing to improve their English proficiency may opt to take English as a Second/Additional Language courses through the G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education.

In addition to fulfilling the PEO’s academic requirement for licensure, the IEEQB program can provide you with the tools necessary for a successful engineering career in Ontario. As part of the IEEQB program, you will:

• Receive an academic bridging education as well as career and social counselling;
• Review and update your technical knowledge and learn the English terminology required for your engineering discipline;
• Learn Canadian economic principles and engineering law and ethics;
• Complete courses from accredited engineering undergraduate programs;
• Interact socially and professionally with other engineering students; and
• Be eligible to apply for financial assistance from the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP).
