Internationally Educated Engineers Qualification Bridging Program for Graduate Studies (IEEQB-GS)

The Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science (FEAS) at Ryerson University is pleased to offer the Internationally Educated Engineers Qualification Bridging Program for Graduate Studies (IEEQB-GS). This unique program provides internationally educated engineers with an opportunity to strengthen their applications for admission into an engineering master’s program at Ryerson. The following engineering master’s programs (M.Eng. and M.A.Sc.) are offered at Ryerson:

The IEEQB-GS program is available to engineers who have been educated in a country that has entered into an agreement with FEAS. Applicants must also meet the minimum English language requirements of the program, which are a TOEFL or MELAB score of 80, or  an IELTS score of 6.5.

The IEEQB-GS program assists eligible students who may lack prerequisite courses, have marginally lower grades, and/or have marginally lower English-language proficiency scores gain admission into a Ryerson engineering master’s program.  In particular, the program helps students enhance their knowledge of engineering through course work and improve their English language and communication skills. Completion of the IEEGB-GS program will increase the competiveness of the student’s application for admission into a Ryerson engineering master’s program, however, it should be noted that registration and/or completion of the IEEGB-GS program does not guarantee admission.

As part of the IEEGB-GS program, each student will be assigned an individually tailored academic plan normally spanning 12 to 16 months and including:

  • Six-to-eight prerequisite and/or upgrading courses as determined by the Graduate Program Director of the student's engineering discipline;
  • English as an additional language (EAL) and/or English as a second language (ESL) courses as determined by the EAL/ESL Program Director; and
  • Two-to-four communication courses for improving oral and written English proficiency.

Some students may require less courses and a shorter time frame.
