The Research and Innovation Office (RiO) builds research capacity. Launched in 2009, RiO assists researchers in every stage of their careers to help expedite our Faculty’s research growth.
For the individual investigator, RiO’s services mean more time to devote to research. Investigators rely on research account support officers to balance research accounts and expense reports, co-ordinate and manage purchase orders and expense requisitions, and facilitate hiring and payroll for research personnel.
In addition, RiO co-ordinates initiatives to help FEAS researchers build connections with industry and granting agencies in each of the Faculty’s strategic research areas.
RiO offers competitive research grants up to $10,000 through two types of awards, the DRF-booster and the DRF-connector. Up to 10 grants are available annually in each category. More
To realize our vision, RiO has identified thrust areas for research and research training for each of our six departments. For details, please refer to the 2008-2013 Faculty SRC Strategic Plan.
To learn further about RiO's recent pre-grant activities in each of these research thrust areas, you are invited to read Building Research Partnerships: A Report on RiO Initiatives.
