I came, I say, I conquered... - Julius Caesar
Once FORUM is over, the job of the FORUM chair continues. As one of the post FORUM responsibilities, the FORUM chair must
sit on the FORUM Advisory Committee for a duration of one year to ensure that FORUM progressively improves year to
year.
As stated in the AIAS National Bylaws, the committee is outlined
as follows:
-
There shall be a FORUM Advisory Committee, composed of the
Executive Director, the immediate past FORUM chair, the President, Vice
President, and any others deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors.
-
The FORUM Advisory Committee shall act in an advisory
capacity to the FORUM chair on issues relating to the development and
implementation of FORUM. The FORUM Advisory Committee's activities
shall be reflected in written reports given by the FORUM chair at the
National Board of Directors meetings. At the end of the FORUM chair's FORUM,
he/she shall evaluate the organization's official policy for FORUM and make
suggestions and recommendations to the National Board of Directors.
-
The FORUM Advisory Committee will meet twice per year: (1)
at a designated time in the spring semester, and (2) at a designated time in
the fall semester, prior to FORUM. The meeting in the fall shall be
attended by the next year's FORUM chair.
-
The funding for the FORUM Advisory Committee shall be
outlined in the AIAS budget.
-
Members of the FORUM Advisory Committee, with the exception
of the Executive Director, shall be appointed for a one-year term.
Although, the FORUM chair only sits on the Board of Directors for a one year
term, his or her position lasts from the moment the bid is won through FORUM
until the conclusion of his or her position on the Advisory Committee.
This time period spans over three and a half years.
