EVALUATION

EXAMPLES

When you cannot get a compliment in any other way pay yourself one... - Mark Twain

There are three types of evaluations that are required for FORUM.  The first is an On-site Evaluation.   An individual or group of evaluators can periodically interview participants, attendees and even lecturers.  This type of evaluation is done during the event to random attendees and is the most accurate method of getting current feedback.   However, it may create a problem for the FORUM chair in finding time and committee resources to do so during the hectic schedule.  Rating - High Quality, Low Quantity.

The second type of evaluation is done by the current Board of Directors and the Board Elect at the Post FORUM Meeting, held on the day following FORUM.  This is an opportunity for the Boards to critically analyze FORUM.  It is a venue to discuss what worked well, what did not and suggestions for future FORUMs.  By the conclusion of FORUM, the Board has usually received ample feedback from the chapter presidents or general membership regarding events.  Therefore, the discussion in the meetings stems beyond the 25 people in the room.  Rating - High Quality, Moderate Quantity.

The third and final type is the Post FORUM Attendee Evaluation.  This form should be distributed on the last day of FORUM to get maximum feedback, however, can be distributed through mailings, email or the internet.  This type of form should be keep short and simple.  Anything too complicated or time consuming will discourage participation.  The advantage of this type is that it is simple to quantify the mass amount of answers.  However, quality answers are excluded.  Rating - Low Quality, High Quantity.

It is a good idea to critically analyze each of these types of evaluations since each have their own unique value.  Click on the 'examples' to the left to view examples of questions, discussion or surveys for each evaluation type.
