French Option in Arts & Contemporary Studies

This subject-based option provides students with the opportunity to gain a specialization in an important linguistic and cultural field. It allows students to develop a better understanding of the culturally diverse populations of the Francophone world in Africa, Asia, Europe and North America, while acquiring critical insights into the significant role that French and Francophone culture play both at a national level in this country and in the broader international context.

Students will also benefit from all the critical skills that the study of literary and linguistic analysis provides. They will develop a deeper understanding of the rich traditions of French literature, theory and thought - knowledge that can be gained only by the study of a literature in its original language.    More...
