The Program in Geographic Analysis offers exchange opportunities with four exchange partners in Europe. This is a wonderful educational opportunity for students to immerse themselves in different cultures, experience a different learning environment, and address geographic problem solving in a different country. Students often take the opportunity to travel extensively while abroad.

Students typically apply for an exchange program in the second year and will go abroad in their third year. Students may choose to go for a semester or full year.

You pay fees to Ryerson as if you were completing your final year here. Some incidental fees such as lab fees may have to be paid at the host university. You should plan to cover all other expenses while abroad.

You are eligible to apply for the exchange program if you have a Clear academic standing and have a CGPA of at least 2.50 (in some cases higher depending on the university). These criteria are set to ensure that you will be prepared to thrive academically while on exchange.

Students stay in university halls of residence, private student residence halls or in the private rental sector.

Visiting students are allowed to work but some restrictions apply, for example the number of hours.

Three semesters/terms. Late September to early June with two major breaks.

Some awards and scholarships are available for students studying abroad – check the Ryerson International Office for details.
