Graduate
Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC)
INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS FOR THE 2012-2013 COMPETITION:
The application is now submitted to NSERC on-line, and NSERC is no longer holding information sessions on University campuses. Complete information concerning the upcoming application cycle is available from the NSERC website: www.nserc.ca
When completing your application, you will be asked for information regarding the person at Ryerson who will be responsible for uploading your transcript(s) onto your application. You must indicate:
Family Name: “Faye” Given Name: “Cathy” Email address: cfaye@ryerson.ca
You will also be required to provide electronic contact information for the two individuals you will be asking to provide reference letters for you. The referees must submit their letters electronically through the NSERC online system. As with any reference letter, be sure to notify your referees and advise them of the selection criteria that are critical to a successful application, and how you meet the selection criteria.
Each Canadian University has a quota of applications which can be submitted. An internal Ryerson NSERC Scholarship Committee will rank all Ryerson applications and recommend the allowable number of our top students to NSERC.
To facilitate this selection process, Ryerson requires that students submit a paper copy of their completed on-line application, and official transcripts to their program office by our internal deadline. We will download the letters of reference from your NSERC application and include them in the paper submission when evaluating the applications.
Deadline date for submission: Monday, October 17, 2011
ALL undergraduate students in their final year who are eligible for a Natural Sciences and Engineering scholarship should consider applying, even if they are only considering graduate studies at this time. If successful, the award can be declined.
NSERC will notify nominees of the results of the competition in March or April.
Applicants who have not been recommended will be informed by the Ryerson NSERC committee.
For more information on this program, please consult the NSERC website. If you need assistance with your application, please contact your program or departmental assistant.
