Two Letters of Recommendation are required for each application. The two recommendations should be from academic referees – former professors or research supervisors familiar with applicant’s abilities. One recommendation may be substituted with a professional letter from a previous employer.
You will be asked to complete the referee page on the online application form with their contact information including an active e-mail address. Your referee will be contacted electronically within 2-3 business days of your application submission with further instructions.

  • Clippings should be scanned and submitted in a single pdf document.
  • A maximum of six items may be included.
  • State clearly where and when each was published.
  • If you submit online material, please include the URL in a separate pdf document
  • We will also consider ONE video or audio item which has previously been broadcast.

Electronic portfolio submissions are strongly preferred. However, if you encounter difficulty emailing your portfolio you may also mail a hard copy to our Graduate Admissions Office (Graduate Admissions Office, Ryerson University, 350 Victoria St., Toronto, ON M5B 2K3).
