About Us

Housed in the English Department of Ryerson University in vibrant downtown Toronto, the MA in Literatures of Modernity affords students a unique learning experience.

Innovative courses take a critical focus on the contested idea of modernity in a range of geographical, cultural, and historical settings.

Students have the choice of pursuing either a Major Research Paper or a Practicum option, in which they gain hands on experience working at one of the city's many literary and cultural institutions.
