Program of Study

Each ECS student is assigned a Faculty Advisor who holds faculty membership with the School of Graduate Studies and with the Early Childhood Studies Program.  The completion and submission of an initial  'Program of Study' is a policy requirement of the School.  New students must meet with their assigned Faculty Advisors to complete and submit a Program of Study; use the form available from the ECS website, and submit to the Program Office for approval by the Program Director, within the first four weeks of the program.

For Fall 2009 admissions, your Program of Study is due Friday, October 9th.

Graduate and Research Assistantships (GA/RA)

GA positions in the undergraduate Early Childhood Education (ECE) program are allocated by the Program Director, in consultation with the undergraduate department.  RA positions are allocated by individual faculty members engaged in research projects.  Students will be contacted ONLY IF there is a suitable GA or RA position that matches a student's background or interest.  Placement is not guaranteed.  Students who are NOT assigned a position may apply for any GA or RA positions they qualify for in the university.

These positions are posted online on the university's 'Careers and Jobs' web page at www.ryerson.ca/jobs.  If you are interested in a GA/RA position, apply directly online via the 'Careers and Jobs' web page.  This year, the ECE program anticipates the posting of positions during weeks 1 and 2 of September.

Some departments also post their positions on a common bulletin board near their offices or on individual professor's office doors, so be sure to walk around the departments to see if there is anything of interest.
