In addition to the three required courses (ES 8901, ES 8920 or ES 8921 and ES 8930), thesis students must complete four program elective courses and the master's thesis. A minimum of one elective must be chosen from the Group A Environmental Applied Science electives list and a minimum of one elective must be chosen from the Group B Environmental Management electives list.
To fulfil the master's thesis requirement, thesis option students conduct an advanced examination of a topic in the environmental applied science and management areas. Students propose and carry out the research under the direction of a faculty supervisor. On completion, the research is submitted in a thesis format, to the supervisor and defended by the student before a thesis examining committee.
The Environmental Applied Science and Management programs' curricula and calendar course descriptions are available online in the Graduate Calendar.
