MASTER OF NURSING – INTERNATIONAL CANDIDATES
APPLICATION INFORMATION
International applicants are required to meet the same admission requirements and deadlines as all other applicants. Applicants educated at non-Canadian institutions should note that their educational background will be assessed of equivalency to qualifications as outlined in the program-specific Admissions Requirements before they can be considered for admission.
Please note that International applicants that do not possess proof of current registration or proof of registration eligibility with the College of Nurses of Ontario, must submit with their application a letter from the CNO indicating their eligibility to write the licensing examination. For international candidates, please be aware that the application will not be assessed for admission without the submission of this required documentation.
Important: Meeting minimal requirements does not guarantee admission.
OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS
Applicants must provide, in officially sealed envelopes, official copies of their complete academic records, including all courses and grades from each university attended, and bearing official seals. Applicants should arrange for the record(s) to be sent directly to Ryerson University’s Graduate Admissions Office from the issuing institution(s). Applicants who submit their records themselves must ensure that the officially sealed envelopes remain unopened.
ENGLISH TRANSLATIONS
Official English translations must accompany all non-Canadian academic records not written in English. An official English language translation must be done by a certified translator. Please note that a translated document is not a substitute of the official transcript.
ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS
International applicants must submit a copy of their English proficiency test scores. If your primary language is not English and you graduated from a non-Canadian university where the language of instruction and examination was not English, then you must demonstrate your facility in English. If an English Proficiency Test is required, the application will not be assessed for admission without a test result that meets the program minimum. For exemption from this requirement, applicants may be required to provide an official statement from their institution confirming the use of English as the language of instruction and examination. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that one of the acceptable tests is taken. We strongly urge applicants to write one of the tests as early as possible since test results take 4-6 weeks to reach the university.
