The Ryerson
Health Promotion web site consists of a series of articles regarding
a wide range of health topics. Most of the information which appears
within the Ryerson Health Promotion web site has been developed
by students, for students. Some of these students are in health
related programs; however, none of them are medical practitioners.
Some of these students are placement students who work on web
articles for academic credit. Other web articles are written by
students who are working with or volunteering for the campus Health
Promotion program. Whenever possible, references from a reputable
and/or scholarly source are provided to substantiate statements
made. No contribution of funding or services were received from
commercial organizations or for-profit agencies.
It is important
to discuss the information you find on this and other related
web sites with a health care practitioner. This web site is intended
for informational purposes only. It is not a basis for clinical
decision-making. It cannot substitute for professional medical
judgment and/or treatment.
Health information
can be very complex and should be considered in the context of
your own particular circumstances, with the guidance of a physician
or other health care provider who is familiar with your individual
situation.
