eHire is Officially Here!Ryerson HR is pleased to announce the launch of the eHR recruiting solution. eHire streamlines the full cycle of the recruitment process into one easy location in eHR. Hiring managers can post vacancies and review applications in eHire and both internal and external applicants are able to search for postings, upload their resume and apply for positions online. Applicants can expect improved resume uploading and the ability to track their applications.

Update on Excess Vacation BalancesIn May 2012, Ryerson implemented an initiative to promote vacation planning to bring vacation credit and CTO balances within the limits established in our policies and collective agreements.
Communications were sent to staff and leaders with instructions and resources to establish a plan to reduce excess vacation balances. Everyone was asked to complete a “Plan to Use Vacation & Compensating Time Off (CTO) Form” detailing how your balance would be reduced by September 30, 2014.

Upcoming eHire Launch: Important DatesRyerson HR is pleased to announce the launch of eHire, the new recruitment system integrated into eHR. We are now ready to streamline the recruitment process into one easy location!
Using eHire, hiring managers will post vacancies, and applicants can search for teaching assistant, graduate assistant, invigilator and lab monitor postings, upload their resume, and apply for positions. The hiring manager will then review applicants, hire the candidate, and create their employment record -- all electronically and in one convenient location through eHR.
eHire will eliminate duplicate data entry, and replace both the TAGA application and the eAppoint hire function, as it expands the capabilities of eHR to include features found on popular recruiting sites.

Improved Approval Processes for Administrative PositionsWe're happy to announce that we've streamlined approval processes in order to provide improved client service. For Position and Appointment Requisitions and Job Evaluation results, vice-presidential approvals will no longer be required, reducing the overall turnaround time for approvals at the university.

Update for MAC Employees - Transitioning to a Common Merit DateIn a previous communication, information was provided to all MAC employees regarding the transition plan and the calculation used to determine the transition merit increase for July 1, 2013. This increase will be processed and included in the July 19, 2013 payday for all eligible MAC FTCE employees who have completed their probation, and for Term employees in graded positions with over 12 months service.

The TFSA is a flexible, registered, general-purpose savings vehicle that allows Canadians to earn tax-free investment income to more easily meet their lifetime savings needs. Introduced in Canada in 2009, the TFSA complements existing registered savings plans like the RRSP and RESP.

The Program Goals and Objectives are to provide supervised work experience for youth in summer positions in order to develop skills that are career related and transferable to the general labour market, to identify specific transferable skills for development, to provide training and work experience to develop these skills, and to be made available in communities throughout the province with some concentration in areas of high youth unemployment.
