Critical to our success is that we prioritize our employees by establishing Ryerson as a high engagement, diverse, inclusive and equitable workplace—a best in class employer. What does this mean? A place we’d never want to leave and where the most talented and in demand want to work, teach and conduct research.

Dear Faculty, Instructors, and Staff,
We all want to make Ryerson a great place to work. The success of the University depends on our most important asset – our people. As part of our goal to create an environment where we put people first, we will be conducting our first University-wide employee survey to hear from you about what Ryerson is doing well as an employer and what we can improve on.
We’re listening. In these challenging times, feedback on your personal experience is more important than ever to help us create an environment that fosters passion and commitment to the University’s goals.
The University will share the results of the survey in as open and transparent a manner as possible, both the positive and the negative. In response to this feedback, plans will be established to address the issues and provide us with direction for the People First agenda.
The survey is a collaborative initiative led by Human Resources. An advisory committee with representation from all employee groups developed the survey and will provide input into actions to be taken based on survey results. The survey has also been reviewed and approved by Ryerson’s Research Ethics Board.
To safeguard your privacy and the confidentiality of your responses, the survey is being conducted by an external partner, Ipsos Reid, who will send you an invitation by March 13. Ipsos will only report back to Ryerson combined results of groups of 10 or more employees, and text responses to open ended questions will be coded by Ipsos and also reported on combined basis, so no one from Ryerson will have access to individual responses. Details of the measures taken to protect your privacy can be found at www.ryerson.ca/peoplefirstsurvey.
The survey should take about 20 minutes to complete. If you do not have access to a computer or would like more privacy to complete the survey, please see the schedule of drop-in computer availability.
Thank you very much for participating in this important survey.
Sincerely,
Julia Hanigsberg Vice President, | Larissa Allen Assistant Vice President, |
