We've also included an "Employee Spotlight" to recognize employees' contributions to the Ryerson community.

You can also now follow us on Twitter @RyersonHR to find out first about important deadlines and employment information.

LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

We're proud to offer you the internationally acclaimed workshop, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Participants will learn, for example, how to take initiative, balance key priorities, improve interpersonal communication, leverage creative collaboration, and apply principles for achieving a balanced life. Register at www.runner.hr.ryerson.ca/training. Here's some feedback we've received from past Ryerson participants:

"I think all departments should take part in The 7 Habits as a team!"
"This is a powerful workshop."
"Excellently executed sessions." Read more

YOUR PENSION & BENEFITS

Ryerson Matching Pension Contributions: Why aren't they on my Annual Pension Statement?

Every year members of the Ryerson Retirement Pension Plan (RRPP) receive a statement of contributions and accrued benefits in the plan. The University contributes one dollar for every dollar contributed by employees, so why is that amount is not reflected on members' annual statements? Read More

Improving Your Pay Advice and eHR system

We're working to upgrade your eHR system! The change from version 9.0 to 9.1 will take place August 22, 2011. This version features practical improvements to the navigation and menus, and a new look and feel.

With the upgrade we'll be introducing a new layout for your pay advice, providing you more detail about your income and deductions. In addition, we'll no longer produce any paper paystubs in order to further Ryerson's sustainability initiatives.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

Ryerson Grounds Team

The Grounds Team!

You've seen them out there. You've heard their radios crackling, their engines running, their blades spinning. If you've ever sat on our manicured lawns or enjoyed the budding gardens, you've seen their work. If you've ever made the trek into campus during a snowstorm, you've seen them fighting against the gale force wind you were racing to escape - a reminder that this is no easy job. They are Ryerson's Groundskeepers and Drivers. Rain or shine, sleet or snow, they are the men and women who keep Ryerson looking beautiful in the summer and our first line of defense when Mother Nature tries to bury us in the winter. Read More

Important Reminders

It's Summer Vacation Time! Don't Forget to Submit your Request

The rain seems to have finally subsided and the sun is shining bright, so planning a summer vacation is likely on your mind. Just reminding you that vacation requests must be submitted through eHR. It's really easy and by using eHR you can see how many days you've got banked, check the status of the request and see when it's been approved. No need to send e-mails or fill out paper forms anymore!

For instructions, please visit www.ryerson.ca/ehr/selfservice/time_absence and select the guide for your employee group.

Have a safe and happy summer!
