Ryerson @ Run for the Cure!

Participate and make your mark on Sunday October 2, 2011 in Canada's largest single day, volunteer-led fundraising event dedicated to breast cancer research, CIBC's Run for the Cure. All proceeds go to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF), an organization committed to research, advocacy, education, and health promotion.

Faculty, staff and students are all invited to register for the 2011 Post-Secondary Team Challenge where universities and colleges across Ontario will compete for the title of top fundraiser. Each institution is encouraged to enter multiple teams and challenge each other to win the title. Compete with your colleagues for the most successful Ryerson team or have a friendly competition with our rivals at a neighbouring university!

Join the Ryerson team as an individual, or create a sub team under Ryerson (for example, the Ryerson Rams Team, or Ryerson HR Team) and the money you raise will be added to Ryerson's total. To register, visit www.runforthecure.com.

The Participant Centre of their website includes a number of tools that will help with your fundraising efforts. These include the 2011 Team Captain Kit, fundraising tips, email templates and a Facebook application. Using the Participant Centre tools will help you meet - or even beat - your fundraising goal.

If you're not up for the walk or run, you can also support the fundraising efforts by donating to any Ryerson participant or to a Ryerson team. Visit www.runforthecure.com and click on Donate.

We're looking to recruit Program Champions to encourage teams to join and spread the message on campus. If you're interested, please contact Monika Dacosta at (416) 979-5000 ext. 7975 or mdacosta@ryerson.ca. For more information, please visit the Run for the Cure website, or contact Monika.

Thank you for your support in helping to create a future without breast cancer.
