Advising

International Student Services (ISS) offers advising services to international students all year round! It is very important to understand your legal status while you are studying in Canada.

ISS and our International Student Advisors can help you find answers to the various questions that you may have. We assist you to complete applications for example Study Permit and Work Permits. ISS also provides international students with Ryerson Status Letters of proof of enrollment at Ryerson University, which can serve multiple functions, such as supporting your application to extend your Study Permit or for applying for a U.S. Visa to travel to the United States.

Advising appointments can inlcude (but not limited to) help with:

• Immigration questions and application procedures such as Study Permit and Work Permits
• Obtaining Health Insurance coverage for students and family members
  
• Financial assistance services
• ISS Work Experience Program (ISSWEP), i.e. international work study
  
• Understanding the Student Code of Conduct
