Working In Canada

International students may find it difficult to find employment in Canada. Students are eligible to work on and off-campus, so long as their posess valid immigration documents. Off-campus employment requires a valid work permit (co-op/internship or off-campus). Some international students may not be eligible for either work permits and would only be able to work on-campus, which can be very competitive.

This section provides international students with information about on-campus job opportunities, including the ISS Work Experience Program (ISSWEP), how to obtain a Social Insurance Number (SIN), as well as information about applying for student work permits (internship, off-campus and post-graduation).

If you have any questions or concerns about working, please do not hesitate to contact ISS for assistance.
