Publishing Your Lesson Plan

Purposes

  1. This section includes research-based and field tested poetry activities for k-poets.

  2. The aims are to:

    1. Encourage kindergarten teachers to develop professionally.

    2. Promote the use of poetry in kindergarten.

    3. Encourage teacher authorship of curriculum.

     

Submission Guidelines

  1. All learning activities submitted must be original work by teachers.

  2. Grade Level: Kindergarten.

  3. All learning activities must be submitted by the teacher-author.

  4. The standards, format and the layout of the learning activities should be similar to those currently posted on the website.

  5. Teachers-authors provide information about their school affiliation and their e-mail address.

  6. Learning activities must be emailed AS AN ATTACHMENT to the project coordinator who will post them on the project website:k-poets@ryerson.ca.

  7. Teachers are not paid for their published work.

 

Steps for Website Publishing

  1. The teacher-author of learning activities are identified at the top of each text submitted and published on this website.

  2. Individual pictures of children will not be posted with the children's first and last names. The teachers-authors are responsible to obtain parental consent for posting the photos of their children.

  3. Class pictures may be posted but the picture will not explain which individuals are standing where in the picture. Such class pictures will include at least three or more students.

  4. The children’s last names will never be posted with the learning activities.

 

Copyright

  • All learning-activities remain the property of the teacher-author, but permission is granted to the Ryerson School of Early Childhood Education to publish the work in K-poets and to retain the work for archival and research purposes.

  • Permission is granted for personal private use of learning acclivities that appears on this site, i.e., you may print out them for your own use, but you may NOT republish them, neither commercially nor on your own web page, or any other web page or electronic media, without written permission by the original author. So, contact the teacher-author of the author whose email address appears on the learning activity.
