Ryerson Faculty and Staff

Faculty and Staff:

All employees of Ryerson with employment contracts for greater than 4 months will be issued a Ryerson OneCard through the OneCard office. This card must be activated at the Library Circulation Desk on the second floor of the Library. Privileges are valid for the contract term of employment. Sessional instructors and Post-doctoral fellows should bring a copy of their contract to the Library when activating their cards. Loans periods depend on individual items borrowed, but generally Ryerson staff may borrow books for 4 weeks, with 3 renewals. Faculty may borrow books for 100 days with one renewal. Four reserve items and 6 periodicals/maps may be borrowed at the same time. Interlibrary loans are free. Remote access to online resources is available with my.ryerson login or activated cards.

Contract/Part-time Faculty and Staff:

All Ryerson contract/part-time faculty and staff who do not have a OneCard may apply for a Library card at the second floor Circulation Desk by presenting proof of employment provided by Human Resources. These cards must be re-validated at the Circulation Desk each time a contract is extended or renewed. Loan periods depend on individual items borrowed, but generally Ryerson staff may borrow books for 4 weeks, with 3 renewals. Faculty may borrow books for 100 days with one renewal. Four reserve items and 6 periodicals/maps may be borrowed at the same time. Interlibrary loans are free. Remote access to online resources is available with my.ryerson login or activated cards.

Research Assistants, Graduate/Teaching Assistants

Research Assistants, Graduate/Teaching Assistants may be issued a Ryerson Staff OneCard by the OneCard office (depending on contract period). These cards can be activated at the Library Circulation Desk and will be valid for the term of the contract by the proof of employment. Other research assistants who are paid directly from Faculty Research accounts must apply for library privileges. The application must be authorized by the hiring faculty member and can be downloaded. Cards are valid for the contract term of employment. Loans periods depend on individual items borrowed, but generally books may be borrowed for 4 weeks, with 3 renewals. Graduate/Teaching Assistants who are also graduate students should have the same privileges as Graduate Students (100 days with one renewal). Four reserve items and 6 periodicals/maps may be borrowed at the same time. Interlibrary loans are free. Remote access to online resources is available with my.ryerson login or activated cards.
