Periodical Databases - Record Types
Bibliographic Citations
Bibliographic citations indicate where the referenced item may
be found. If there is a Get it! button beside the citation, click
on it to see if you can link to the article. If there is no Get
it! button, you will need to search further to determine if the
Ryerson Library has the journal or the source of the reference.
The Journals
by Title A-Z page
contain entries for all electronic, print and microform journal
titles held by the Library.
Abstracts
Abstracts contain a bibliographic citation plus a brief description
of the contents of the article. From this description you should
be able to determine if the article will be useful without having
to look for the article itself.
Full Text
The contents of the article are included in the database. Usually
full-text databases are selective full text - not all articles are
reproduced in full. In many cases you will need to change the display
format to view the full text of an article.
