FAQ - How can I renew my books?

To renew an item that you currently have on loan, connect to the Check your File page which is accessible from the library home page or from the Library catalogue.

You will be prompted to enter:

  • Your name (either first or last name will do)
  • Your 13 digit library barcode number and
  • Your PIN number (last four digits of your student/staff number).

Once you enter this information, you will retrieve a screen which will contain a button such as:

indicating the number of items you currently have checked out. Click on this button to get the details about each item and the option for renewing.

To renew titles, click in the boxes beside the titles that you want to renew, then click on the "Renew Selected Items" button. If you wish to renew all items, click on the "Renew All" button.

Once you have renewed your items check the listing for the new due dates and for any items that could not be renewed.

You may be prevented from renewing if:

  • You owe excessive fines
  • The item has been renewed three times
  • The item has been requested by another borrower.
