Mobile Device Survey - November 2009
This survey was run as a follow up to our November 2008 survey to collect data to enable the Library to make informed decisions about the provision of Library services via mobile device and to see how the mobile landscape was evolving. We wanted to know what types of mobile devices were in use, what mobile devices were being used for, what services people might want on their next device and what mobile library services our users were interested in seeing.
This survey ran from Monday November 9 until Friday November 20. Print surveys were available at the Circulation and Reference Desks on the main floor of the Library, a link to an online version of the survey was placed on the Library’s home page and the survey was mentioned in Ryerson Today. A draw for one of two iPod nanos was used as an incentive for this survey.
Number of surveys completed – 760
- Of these, 32 were completed in print and 728 online
- 746 surveys included an email address (to be entered for the iPod draw); 14 were anonymous or included a non-Ryerson email address.
- 81.4% of respondents to the survey were undergraduate students
