Canada
- Annual
Statutes of Canada contain the text of the Acts of Parliament
(other than appropriation Acts and private Acts) which received
royal assent in a given calendar year. Access to these documents
is determined by chapter number. For ease of reference, Bill identifiers
are also included.
- Bills (Parliament of Canada) The availability of a bill on the website
may be delayed by two or more working days following the completion
of its stage in the legislative process. The printed version (as
opposed to this on-line version) is the official version of the
bill. Bills sponsored by the Government which are first introduced
in the Senate are prefixed with the letter "S". Government Bills
first introduced in the House of Commons are prefixed with the
letter "C". In order to find a bill by subject, use the Hansard
Index; information on navigating the bills is in the User's Guide.

Elections Act An Act respecting the election of members to
the House of Commons, repealing other Acts relating to elections
and making consequential amendments to other Acts [Assented to
31st May, 2000]

Gazette is the official newspaper of the Government of Canada
since 1841. The Canada Gazette is published under the authority
of the Statutory Instruments Act. It consists of three parts: Canada Gazette,
Part I published every Saturday, contains all formal public
notices, official appointments, miscellaneous notices and proposed
regulations from the government and private sectors that are required
to be published by a federal statute or a regulation; Canada
Gazette, Part II published every second Wednesday, Part II
contains regulations as defined in the Statutory Instruments Act,
and certain other classes of statutory instruments; Canada
Gazette, Part III published as soon as is reasonably practicable
after Royal Assent, Part III contains the most recent Public Acts
of Parliament and their enactment proclamations.
- Canadian Parliamentary Publications: A Research Guide This guide includes major publications produced by Canada's Parliament since Confederation (1867). Included are brief descriptions of the parliamentary publication, coverage dates and if an index is avail.
- CanLII A prototype
site in the field of public and free distribution of Canadian
primary law material. It was developed for the Federation of Law
Societies of Canada and by the University of Montreal's LexUM
team. The site covers federal and provincial case law.

step in the Government of Ontario's ongoing efforts to improve

of the House of Assembly as introduced, for the 1995-96 and subsequent
sittings of the Assembly and those of the bills that were passed
by the Assembly, as passed, are available on this site.
- Nova Scotia Registry of Regulations (Nova Scotia Justice) provides access
to a complete listing of all regulations made pursuant to the
statutes of Nova Scotia, and filed with the Registry of Regulations.
A full text html version of most regulations is also available

officielle du Québec The Gazette officielle du Québec is the
publication through which the Québec Government makes its decisions
official. It is published in two separate editions under the authority
of the Act respecting Government services to departments and public
bodies and amending various legislative provisions (1994 c. 18)
and the Regulation respecting the Gazette officielle du Québec
(O.C. 3333-81 dated 2 December 1981 amended by O.C. 2856-82 dated
8 December 1982, O.C. 1774-87 dated 24 November 1987, O.C. 849-92
dated 10 June 1992 and O.C. 1243-97 dated 24 September 1997).

Proceedings Public Bills The text of a bill presented on this
site is identical to that of the bill introduced in the Assembly.
It may be amended as it passes through the various stages before
receiving the Royal Assent.

Gazette Combines what is published separately in paper format

Notices, general public notices required by law, Management Board
Directives, Orders-In-Council Appointments and Proclamations (Part
I). It also includes Regulations, Orders-In-Council pursuant to
Yukon Statutes, and other Ministerial or Legislative Orders (Part
II).

the U.S. material held in the LII's other collections). It

and online resources and is aimed primarily at researchers
outside of Canada needing an overview of Canadian legal research.

It is aimed primarily at students at the Faculty of Law, University
of Toronto, and is designed to help those students conduct
