Newsstand
Canadian Newsstand provides the full text of articles, columns
and features published by Canada's major newspapers.
CBCA
Complete
Canadian Business & Current Affairs (CBCA) is Canada's largest
and most comprehensive bibliographic full text reference and current
events database. CBCA Complete combines full text and indexed
content from all four CBCA database subsets (Reference, Current
Events, Business and Education).
Factiva
Factiva integrates content from top national newspapers, Dow
Jones & Reuters newswires, business journals, market research
reports, analyst reports and web sites providing broad based business
& financial coverage.
Lexis/Nexis
Lexis/Nexis is a full-text database which focuses primarily on
business, legal and news resources. Included in the database are
law reports, company filings, journal and newspaper articles,
broadcast transcripts, etc.
The Lexis/Nexis service is made available exclusively for the
use of currently enrolled students and faculty of Ryerson. Commercial
use is strictly prohibited.
Proquest
Newstand
ProQuest Full-Text Newspapers provides indexing and searchable
ASCII full text for some 150 key national and international papers.
Center for Research Libraries (CRL)
The Center acquires newspapers in three categories:
- domestic, including current microfilm subscriptions to 54 foreign language ethnic papers and 19 African-American papers;
- foreign, including current microfilm subscriptions to over 300 papers from 93 countries and 10 papers in newsprint, which are filmed by CRL;
- newspapers on demand, in which CRL will acquire issues to papers it currently subscribes to.
Beyond the current subscriptions, CRL holds extensive runs of more than 6,000 foreign newspaper titles and 500 U. S. ethnic newspaper titles.
Paper of Record subsumed by Google News Archive
The Paper of Record is an historical archive of full-page newspaper images from a collection of international papers spanning the 18th-21st centuries. Canadian and Mexican regional newspapers are well represented.

As Canada's newspaper of record for more than 150 years, The
Globe and Mail and its daily Report on Business section are the
definitive source for Canadian news and business reporting. Includes
Report on Business magazine, published monthly.
Globe and Mail: Canada's Heritage
from 1844 (1844-December 2005)
"Canada's Heritage from 1844" is the electronic full-page newspaper archive
of The Globe from June 1844 to The Globe and Mail until December 2005. Coverage includes all the stories, plus
thousands of images, advertisements, classifieds, political cartoons, births and deaths from more than
1.4 million pages of Canada's National Newspaper, dating back to the pre-confederation era.
New York Times (1851-2006)
ProQuest Historical Newspapers The New York Times is a unique full-image archive that brings you the entire historical run of The New York Times, the definitive voice of American journalism since 1851. It offers complete coverage from 1851-2006, with a new year’s content added annually.
The Times Digital Archive (London, 1785-1985)
Researchers can search through the complete digital edition of The Times (London), using keyword searching and hit-term highlighting to retrieve full facsimile images of either a specific article or a complete page. The entire newspaper is available, with all articles, advertisements and illustrations/photos divided into categories to aid searching.
Toronto Star (1985-present)
Toronto Star Pages of the Past (1894-2007)
The Toronto Star - Pages of the Past, an archive that includes over a century of regional, national and international events, is available online, fully digitized, and searchable by date, keyword or subject.
Wall Street Journal (1889-1991)
This database offers full-page-images and article images from the Wall Street Journal from its first issue in 1851 to 1991. The collection includes digital reproductions of every page from every issue, cover to cover, in downloadable PDF files. The database is an ongoing project.
Washington Post (1877-1992)
Includes all the articles published since the first issue of the paper in 1877. Provides full text and full image articles with digital reproductions of every page, every article and every issue in PDF format. In addition to news stories, includes editorials, letters to the editor, obituaries, birth and marriage announcements, photos, and advertisements.
