The Learning & Teaching Office has gathered a variety of resources and reports to assist faculty and students in their professional development.

  • Self Evaluation of Teaching: Self evaluation "is one of the most overlooked forms of explicit evaluation... and should precede all other forms of the evaluation of teaching effectiveness." Learn how to get started with the self evaluation of teaching.
  • Dossier Design: Individuals applying for promotion and tenure at Ryerson are required to have a teaching dossier. This page provides a guide for developing your teaching dossier based on Ryerson guidelines.
  • Writing Your Teaching Philosophy: The central piece of the teaching dossier that holds the entire document together is the teaching philosophy. The LTO has gathered sample teaching philosophies of award winning Ryerson instructors to assist you in constructing your own.
  • Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL): Learn about journals, organizations, and conferences centered on higher education.

Please check out the LTO's list of current programs for more services to help you improve your teaching.
