Ryerson Health Services
The Health Centre is a medical clinic, which provides patients with a wide range of services that you would normally expect to receive from your family physician. This includes the treatment of illnesses, such as colds or the flu, to routine examinations like annual physicals and PAP smears.
Most visits to the Health Centre are covered by your provincial health insurance plan, OHIP or equivalent - BC care card, MCP card etc. The Health Centre also accepts the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) and Liberty Life Insurance Plan. If you are not covered by one of these insurance plans, you will be required to pay for the medical visit. Visit our site at: ryerson.ca/healthservices for more information.
Services Include:
- Allergy shots
- Blood Work
- Emergency Contraception
- Form Completion (nursing, midwifery, etc.)
- HIV and other STD testing, Counseling and Treatment
- Immunization and TB skin testing
- Medical Certificates
- Psychosocial Issues - counseling & referrals
- Reproductive Health Issues (e.g. birth control, counseling and prescriptions)
- Routine examinations (e.g. PAP smears, annual physicals)

Hours of Operation:
The Ryerson Health Centre is open year round, with full physician coverage weekly during the academic year:
Monday to Thursday 9:00 - 6:00
Friday 9:00 - 5:00
Unfortunately the Health Centre is not open weekends or holidays. During the months from May to August the Health Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm with variable physician coverage during that time. Changes made to physician and clinic hours will be posted on the Health Centre door and recorded on the voice mail message.

Centre for Student Development and Counselling
Whether you, as a mature student, are new to Ryerson or are one of our on-going students, our Centre can offer you a range of individual counselling and group programs to assist you in your transition to university, help you to address personal concerns, and provide you with educational and career planning. Some of our Counsellors have been mature students themselves and are aware of the types of stressors that adjusting to, and being in, university can bring.
