The Access Centre

The Access Centre provides student-centred services and support to students with disabilities according to the Ontario Human Rights Code to facilitate academic success and access to the university.

Services:

The Access Centre provides confidential appointments and consultations with our Disability Counselors in order to determine appropriate accommodations. Examples could include:

  • test/exam support
  • extended time for tests/assignments
  • alternate format materials
  • reference assistance
  • adaptive technology
  • classroom support
  • note taker
  • advocacy support
  • learning strategies
  • services for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing
  • Other accommodations are made for students depending on their individual learning style and needs. The Access Centre also has fully equipped exam rooms in both locations, a TDD/TTY, an accessible washroom, ergonomically designed chairs and desks, a computer lab, as well as study/computer labs in the library.
