The Access Centre
The Access Centre provides student-centred services and support to students with disabilities according to the Ontario Human Rights Code to facilitate academic success and access to the university.
Services:
The Access Centre provides confidential appointments and consultations with our Disability Counselors in order to determine appropriate accommodations. Examples could include:
- test/exam support
- extended time for tests/assignments
- alternate format materials
- reference assistance
- adaptive technology
- classroom support
- note taker
- advocacy support
- learning strategies
- services for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing Other accommodations are made for students depending on their individual learning style and needs. The Access Centre also has fully equipped exam rooms in both locations, a TDD/TTY, an accessible washroom, ergonomically designed chairs and desks, a computer lab, as well as study/computer labs in the library.
