Ryerson University offers three different graduate programs in the Ted Rogers School of Management: an MBA (Global focus), an MBA in the Management of Technology and Innovation, and a Masters of Management Science (MMSc) in the Management of Technology and Innovation. More in-depth information on each of these programs can be found on the Program pages.
Why is your tuition so low compared to other MBA schools?Ryerson MBA has been designed with the goal to provide business and management education to all qualified students irrespective of their financial capabilities. The Ryerson MBA is accredited by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities in Ontario. While delivering the MBA curriculum is equally expensive at Ryerson University, we are fortunate to have the Government of Ontario's support, which allows us to keep our tuition fees significantly lower than other schools.
Are the programs offered on a part-time basis?Yes. The MBA and MMSc programs are offered on a full-time and a part-time basis.
How long will it take to complete the MBA program full-time?The MBA program can be completed on a full-time basis in a minimum of twelve months. Students who do not have an academic background in business will be required to complete a set of foundation courses which provide an introduction to basic business concepts and skills. Contact us for more information on background requirements for entry to the program.
How long will it take to complete the MBA program on a part-time basis?A part-time load (without foundation courses) will take an average of 24 months to complete. It may take longer, however, if the applicant requires foundation courses, or if they choose to take less than two courses each semester.
How often and when does the program commence each year?Students who require foundation courses will start the MBA program in May on a full time basis, or September on a part time basis. Students with undergraduate degrees in business will start the MBA program in September.
Are part-time classes offered in the evenings or during the day?Part-time classes are held on weeknights from 6:30 - 9:30 pm.
Can I switch from full-time to part-time if my work situation changes?Students are able to switch from part-time to full-time or vice versa. These decisions will be discussed on a case by case basis with the Program Director. Students need to keep in mind that this may affect course selection.
How many in-course/ in-class hours a week will be required for the full-time and part-time study options? The full-time program has 3 hours of class time per week for each course. In order to be successful, students should plan on devoting a minimum of 8-10 hours per week for each course for reading, assignments, study group meetings and class time. Total work load is expected to be 40-60 hours per week. Full time students will generally take 5 courses with 3 hours of class per week each. Part time students will generally take 2 courses per semester, both 3 hours long.
