Biography:

Research Expertise: Marketing

Dr. Carlyle Farrell received his BSc in economics from the University of the West Indies in 1981. He later went on to pursue his studies at the University of Guelph, where he earned his MSc, and then to the University of Manitoba, where he graduated with a PhD in Marketing. Farrell is an Associate Professor and Interim Chair of the Global Management Studies Department in the Ted Rogers School of Business Management. He also serves as the Academic Coordinator for the International Business and Management areas in the G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education. Farrell teaches international marketing at the undergraduate and MBA levels and is coauthor of a new text titled: Global Marketing: Foreign Entry, Market Development & Strategy Implementation, published in 2008 by Nelson Education. Farrell’s research interests include international channel relations, brand globalization, Third World Multinationals, export promotions and more recently, the impact of terrorism on international trade. Farrell has over twelve years of private sector experience as an executive and international management consultant and has worked in over twenty countries across Europe, Africa, South America and the Caribbean. He has completed consulting assignments for a range of private and public sector clients including the African Development Bank, Rabobank International, and the World Bank.
