Research Expertise: Customer Service Management, Business Simulations and Culinary Tourism
David Martin holds a Doctorate of Business Administration from the University of Sarasota, Florida, a Master of Science in Service Quality Management from the Rochester Institue of Technology, and a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Ryerson University.
His research has been published in the Journal of Hospitality and Leisure Marketing, The Journal of Travel Research and The Journal of Applied Hospitality Mangement. He has consulted with The Royal Bank, J.W. Marriott Corporation, and Cendant Corporation in the development of customer satisfaction measurement tools and executive development training programs in service management. He has also developed and delivered management training programs for both Delt Hotels and Accor Hotels and Resorts a using real-time computerized simulation program. This training emphasizes a balanced approach to opertions management that recommends both financial as well as service management strategies for running a successful hotel operation.
