Innovation lies at the intersection of business theory and practice. The Ted Rogers School of Management embodies this, not only in its goals, but also by virtue of its location. We are in fact in good company, situated right at the heart of North America’s third largest financial centre. Since TRSM is part of a multi-cultural and vibrant Toronto, it offers ample opportunities for cutting-edge and applied business research. TRSM is also at the forefront of new developments in the Canadian and international business landscape.
Without a doubt, research drives innovation. We therefore bring research into the classroom in order to develop strategic skills and leadership qualities. Our faculty members are recognised as leading authorities in their field, producing cutting edge research in finance, marketing, HR, entrepreneurship, and information technology.
Applied research goes beyond fostering innovative thinking among our students; it is the driving force for businesses to be more productive and for governments to function more efficiently. Both the public and private sectors are faced with continuous economic and managerial challenges. TRSM researchers are in the business of improving our understanding of these challenges, and formulating alternative solutions, all made possible by their applied research.
TRSM acknowledges the importance of collaboration and the need to bridge gaps in research. It does this by hosting eleven research institutes and centres where faculty members from different departments and at other Canadian and international universities collectively produce solutions for society and the economy.
TRSM faculty continue to generate ideas and solutions through their research, which is highlighted in peer-reviewed journals, industry publications, and popular press. Scholarly activity at TRSM is funded by both the public and private sectors, which has resulted in a culture of academic excellence right in the heart of downtown Toronto.
