Fees and Scholarship Information**

What is the fees schedule and when am I expected to pay?
MBA Global and MBA-MTI students pay tuition per course. Based on the 2008-09 academic year, students paid approximately $1,113 per course plus ancillary fees. For full time students, the fees would be levied for a course load of 5 courses in the fall, 5 courses in the winter and 1 course (the 3 credit Integration experience) in the spring/summer semester. For part-time students, the fees would normally be levied for 2 courses per semester.

For MTI-MMSc students, the tuition structure is different. The MMSc tuition structure is not levied based on the number of courses students are taking. MMSc students pay tuition on a program basis. Each semester, a student registered in the full-time program will pay 1/3rd of the overall tuition plus ancillary fees. A student registered in the part-time program will pay 1/6th of the overall tuition plus ancillary fees each semester.

How much does the program cost?
A breakdown of the fees involved with the MBA program can be found at http://www.ryerson.ca/currentstudents/fees_finances/detail/graduate/. Additional costs will include textbooks, laptop, and other ancillary fees. Based on the 2008 academic year, a domestic student should expect to pay about $13,000 without books.

Are there any scholarships available for the programs?
There are a number of Ryerson Scholarships as well as Graduate Assistantship and Research Assistantship positions available to full-time students who meet specific funding criteria. Thanks to a $15 million donation from Ted and Loretta Rogers, 18 new scholarships and awards (worth $20,000 each) will be available to full-time students applying for the coming academic year. International students are eligible for these scholarships. Click here for an application and to learn more about the out the Ted Rogers School of Management Graduate Entrance Scholarships and Awards.

Are fees different for International Students?
Yes. International students will pay higher fees than Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents. International students must study on a Full time basis. Fees tables are posted at http://www.ryerson.ca/rows/fees-main.htm.

What type of financial help can I receive other than scholarships or bursaries?
The Ontario Government has a student loan program called the Ontario Student Assistance Program, or OSAP. This program is independent of the school and requires an application to the program. Full details can be found at http://osap.gov.on.ca/.

I am an MBA student and did not complete my Major Research Project in August 2009, how will I be assessed fees in September 2009?
The Major Research project is considered one course, even though it is worth 3 credits. Since students pay the equivalent of $1,113 per course per term plus ancillary fees, you would pay $1113 plus ancillary fees in the spring/summer term when you began work on your MRP and an additional $1113 plus ancillary fees in the fall of 2009. This would continue until you completed your MRP.

What happens if I have to reduce my course load. Will I get a fees refund?
If an MBA (Global or MTI) student needed to reduce their course load prior to the deadlines to a drop course with a fees refund, their tuition would be reduced appropriately.

If an MMSc student needed to reduce their course load, it would not change their fees, since an MMSc student is charged fees on the basis of their program. For example a full-time student would pay full fees regardless of the number of courses in which they are registered. Students in the MMSc program are required to maintain registration in their program until they graduate or withdraw from the program.

I am an MMSc student and I did not complete my Thesis project in August 2009, how will I be assessed fees for September 2009?
All MMSc students are assessed tuition based on a per year fee. For full-time students, you pay 1/3rd of the yearly tuition each semester plus ancillary fees. For part-time students, you pay 1/6th of the yearly tuition each semester plus ancillary fees. If a student does not complete their thesis or courses as scheduled, they pay for an additional semester of tuition until they complete the program.

** All fees quoted are based on the 2008-09 academic year.
